2Spheres web design is a freelance web design and graphic design outfit based in Southampton, Hampshire.
We have been providing freelance web design services for approximately two years, and, although currently on a career break, the lead designer of 2Spheres is keeping this domain open for future projects.
We started producing amateur web sites over four years ago (during Uni). At its inception, the freelance project included two good friends working with one another to produce web sites for various clients in the small-to-medium business sector. Primarily, we focussed on clients in Southampton, and sometimes further afield to the borders of Hampshire. One of us coded the websites using HTML while the other was a master of flash and a great designer. Together we produced some great web sites. This was at a time when web design costs were high, the recession was just about to kick off, and we were students looking to enhance our portfolios. As a result, we did much of our work for free. Although this seems ridiculous now, it must be considered how difficult it is to make a success of yourself in the web design industry. There are so many university leavers in the same boat; so making yourself stand out from the crowd is imperative towards success and personal development.
So, where are we now? Well, my old friend and I have parted company and both work for large companies in Surrey and Dorset respectively. He is a great 3D animator/lead designer and I am an online marketing guru. From here I intend to seek a bigger, brighter future in marketing, perhaps somewhere in London. The reality of a lifelong career in Dorset is somewhat thwarted by the capped earning potential and the limited amount of freedom to express one's self in the marketing arena.
Ideals
If I had the ability to map out my future and do as I wish... I would certainly consider starting up my own marketing agency, providing web design, graphics, branding and marketing. The time to do this is approaching, and once I feel confident in my ability to recruit the right team, in the right location with the right offering, it will be a goer. Ideally, I'd run my agency internationally; perhaps from America. This requires an understanding of international marketing culture however, but from what I've studied, the culture of our overseas cousins is much simpler to master compared with the difficult consumer traits of UK buyers.

I've really only written this last bit to gain some free weight with Google. So, when I use the words 'web design', 'graphic design' and 'online marketing', you know that they are meaningless in this paragraph. There was a time when I loved web design. Now I love graphic design too. I'm from Southampton in Hampshire, so that makes me a web designer in Southampton. If you've searched for that term, maybe you found me.
